This course was designed to give students a basic understanding of the environment and current issues from both scientific and social perspectives. They will gain an understanding of biochemical energy cycles, ecosystems, resources, sustainability,and human impact on the environment. Students will analyze environmental topics using scientific methods.

This course will requires the companion textbook, "Visualizing Environmental Science", 3rd edition, 2011. l. R. Berg, M. C. Hager, D. M. Hassenzahl

Fulfills Science Graduation Requirement, Fulfills "G" Requirement for UC/CSU. Grades 11-12, 1 year of Science, or 1 year academic elective. This is a one-year, 10-unit course.
